In addition to her sculptures in bronze, steel, and clay, Rebecca Warren also constructs collages and wall-based vitrines from a broad range of materials. 1990 consists of a lithographic print of a cat, which has been mounted on MDF board and adorned with an assemblage of objects. While these items — including a pompom, a piece of thread, and a wood shaving — might seem like random scraps from around the artist’s studio, they were carefully sourced and placed with great intention.
