New Sculpture and Works on Paper
This monograph reproduces Jasper Johns’s sculptures and works on paper, all completed over the last five years, that were shown in the exhibition “New Sculpture and Works on Paper” at Matthew Marks Gallery in New York. The catalogue is generously throughout, including detail photographs of patterns and textures on each sculpture’s surface. The plates are accompanied by a conversation between Johns and Terry Winters, conducted in the summer and fall of 2010, which takes Johns’s new works as the starting point for a broader discussion of his artistic practice.
