This print is one of Gober’s first works to feature newspaper imagery. Made to resemble a clipping from The New York Times, the original article and its headline, “Baby Left in Brooklyn Trash,” have been left unaltered. The following year Gober began his iconic sculptures of stacked newspapers, which feature rearranged articles alongside found and fabricated advertisements.
