“The newspapers are all printed with photolithography on archival paper. Most of them were gathered or created during the summer of 1992 as I was getting ready for an exhibit at the Dia Center for the Arts in New York and the country was gearing up for a presidential election, Bush Sr. vs. Bill Clinton. Some pages were re-created exactly as I found them. Some were altered by editing as I wanted to see certain articles and topics juxtaposed. And some articles and photographs were fictions that I created, all typeset and graphically arranged to a create a seamless collage of what looked like found bundled newspapers.”
