Hover is an eighteen-inch wood column painted a color the artist described as “orangey-apricot.” The work’s diminutive height, unusual for Truitt, draws the viewer’s focus to the top of the sculpture, where she has painted, in her words, “a little tiny sliver” of lavender, extending it down each side of the column a fraction of an inch.
